The Book
"Step into the wild with an outdoosman who learns that the real adventure isn’t just in the pursuit—but in the mishaps, camaraderie, and unexpected lessons along the way. From gut-busting rookie mistakes to the heart-pounding thrill of close encounters, this book is a hilarious and heartfelt journey into the great outdoors. Packed with suspense, humor, and a deep appreciation for nature. It’s more than just a hunting and fishing story—it’s an invitation to experience the wilderness through the eyes of someone who’s been neck-deep (sometimes literally) in the adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned outdoorsman or just love a good story, you won’t be able to put this one down!"
The Author
From blizzards to backcountry adventures, Lee Davis has spent a lifetime answering the call of duty—both in service and in the wild. His journey began as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, coordinating emergency relief efforts during the historic Blizzard of '78. That early experience led him to careers in emergency services, law enforcement, and eventually the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Security Forces Flight Chief.

After his military career, he transitioned into higher education, overseeing shipping, receiving, and postal services at Central Washington University. But his passion for the outdoors never wavered. For over 30 years since his Air Force career, he has been deeply involved in wildlife conservation and outdoor leadership. He served on the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Game Management Advisory Council, President and/or Board Member of Washington States oldest sportsmans organization, the Kittitas County Field and Stream Club and he also served as the Training Director for the Eyes In The Woods Association.

A lifelong hunter, fly fisher, and outdoorsman, Lee Davis started hunting at 14 in the fields of Ohio before setting his sights on big game in Washington State later in life. Whether tracking elk in the mountains, casting flies into a quiet stream, or mentoring young Boy Scouts, his life has been defined by a deep connection to nature and a commitment to giving back.

This memoir is a reflection of the lessons, adventures, and unforgettable moments he's gathered along the way.
